Konad m2 + E.L.F. Bubble Gum Pink on my piggies

Konad m2 E.L.F. Bubble gum pink

I originally covered my big toes with stamps, and it just looked sloppy. So I re-did it today. I used the m2 plate by Konad. Let me say, it gave me a good way to review E.L.F.'s Bubble Gum Pink polish. HUGE thumbs down.
I really love the color but it seems to pool or coagulate. It's very streaky, and requires so many coats (4+) for even coverage. I painted my nails about 4 times today as each time I'd smudge in the drying process.

This color has been great on my daughters nails, but they're too tiny to see any imperfections. I'd avoid for adult sized nails though.

I do love the Konad though, and I think I did a lot better this time. On another upbeat note, I ordered 10 GCOCL plates off of Ebay today. They're coming from Hong Kong so it may take a week... or 10. These plates are also called "Fauxnad plates" as they are not made by Konad.

I'll start pulling out my other brands soon, I've just been using E.L.F. nail polish lately because I recently purchased a big haul.

More pictures of the piggies!

Thank You bloggers!

I'd like to thank all the fellow beauty, make-up, and nail polish bloggers out there who've stopped by and linked to me. At first I felt like I was posting and no one was reading. Although I started this as a side hobby its nice to start feeling like I'm not talking to myself.

This has been a great experience so far and I hope it only gets better. I'd love to connect with other blogs, new and old alike. If you want check out your blog, or trade blog rolls, please comment. Or if there is any other great blogs out there you want me to check out, let me know!

Trying out my new Konad + E.L.F polish Black

Konad Designs with E.L.F. polish

As previously mentioned I purchased a Konad Set Starter Kit for Stamping Nail ArtKonad stamping nail art set. It arrived lightening fast. I believe I ordered it Friday(?) and it arrived Monday. Great seller. It actually came with the new style stamper and not the one pictured.

My first attempts yesterday were awful. I couldn't pick up images or Konad designs. I stretched them horribly laying them down. I figured out I was applying WAY to much pressure both picking up and placing the stamp. All the Vlogs and Blogs say you need quite a bit of pressure but so far I'd say "Just enough to roll the stamp".

My transfers still aren't great, and it isn't fool proof. Practice will make perfect?

This was done with E.L.F. nail polish in Black and special Konad white stamping polish.
Black usually isn't my color for nails, but this Eyeslipsface nail polish is great in black(besides the smell) this color was achieved with only two coats. Love it!

These were all taken pre top coat. Unfortunately, after trying 3-4 different top coats I realized most of the images smeared. I still have a lot of figuring out to do.

Diamond Woes

On a somewhat beauty related subject... My fiancée purchased me a diamond engagement ring from Helzberg diamonds a couple years ago. It looked a lot like this one. We were confident in our purchase and the company.
Unfortunately they shut down all operations in New England and I couldn't keep up with my warranty. My fiancée travels constantly for work and I don't want to mail it out.

My hopes and dreams of upgrading until reaching a 10 carat diamond ring are crushed! Im hoping even if I bring it in to Long's Jewelers for Helzberg inspection late it will still be O.K. Although it makes me quite nervous.

The plan was to start with something small, under 1 carat. Then to upgrade when we had our wedding. To me, at the time, it didn't matter if I had something huge as it was special to me. I actually wanted a Sapphire or Ruby engagement ring. The husband insisted on a diamond.

Have you purchased jewellery with a warranty plan? Did you keep up with your warranty?

Bobbi Brown Ruby polish review

Awhile ago I was given a few Bobbi Brown items as a gift. See, Bobbi Brown is actually my twice removed Aunt. Basically, an Aunt-in-law. Does that make her once or twice removed?
She's given my uncle items here and there to pass onto my sister & I. Including her book, make-up, nail polish etc.
That is not going to change my point of view on the actual product (so sorry Bobbi!) because quite frankly, I DON'T like the polish!

Onto the pictures : It was hard to get a good image with proper color. I'd say image one is more true to life then the second.

Honestly, I do LOVE the color, but that is the only thing I do love. The polish can glide on smoothly on one nail but horribly on the next. The small square top is hard to control. The brush is meh as far as quality and I have to clean it before use. It only takes 1-2 coats for full coverage. I find myself starting many nails over and over again to get it right. As you can see in the pictures above my manicure is sloppy, and this wasn't a rush job! I just could NOT get it right. The only redeeming factors here were the color and drying time. It does dry super fast.
This polish chips FAST and regardless of base/top coat brands it just doesn't last for more than 12 hours. Due to my experience with this polish I never did purchase any Bobbi Brown polishes.

I know Ruby is a discontinued color, I'm not sure if the whole polish line was discontinued. If so - Thank you Bobbi! Stick to make-up!

Did you try Bobbi Brown nail polishes? Was your experience as bad as mine?

Konad-Licious Giveaway

Linking up Konad-Licious' Awesome aussie give away. Check it out!

E.L.F. Punk Purple Swatch and review time

nail polish

I purchased this beautiful polish myself recently during a large E.L.F. Haul.
Punk purple is a gorgeous pink purple. Id say the color is very true to its name. It coats in 1-2 coats (I use 2 for full coverage). This is a glossy polish, however can easily be made matte with E.L.F matte topcoat!

I HIGHLY suggest using a base coat. I personally have yet to have nail discoloration with E.L.F. polish but as you may know cheaper polishes tend to cause this.
It does chip easily when using their topcoat, but wears well with a quality topcoat!

Chip resistant 4/5
Color 5/5
Application Coats 5/5
Price 5/5

Cons: I had hot pink staining after using this. I dont know whether it was the E.L.F. polish or my new nail polish remover (Equate Strengthening). Ive used %100 pure acetone in the past with no issues and am going to try that at a later date.

E.L.F. Punk purple is available at eyeslipsface.com for $1 a bottle
